Fully Funded Business Start-Up Programme For Neurodivergent Entrepreneurs

Hello, future entrepreneur!

Our core mission at Joyfully Different is to make entrepreneurship joyful for neurodivergent founders, and we are delighted to have received funding from Innovate UK to support 12 neurodivergent individuals get started on their self-employment journey. 

We’re delighted to announce that applications are now OPEN for our fully-funded business start-up programme, delivered in partnership with Supersonic Startup, covering all the fundamental knowledge, skills, support and community you need to start your own business.  
 
Here’s what to expect from the course…
 

Course Lessons

From May to September, we’ll be covering the following topics. Lessons will take place every two weeks, with a peer-to-peer support session in between lessons for you to integrate your learning and ask questions.

  • Business Mindset – How to prepare yourself for self-employment
  • Introduction to Self Employment – What you need to know before you get started
  • The Fundamentals of Legal and Tax – Presented in the most fun, visually-friendly way we can! 
  • Keeping Your Start-Up Costs Low – Finding funding, creating a minimum viable product and getting launched 
  • How To Manage Your Finances & Cash Flow – Financial business basics presented in a simple, easy-to-follow format
  • Business Accounting Basics – Everything you need to know about business accounts, helping HMRC feel less scary!
  • Planning For Success – Throwing out the corporate blueprint and creating a business plan that inspires you
  • Marketing Your Business – How to make marketing feel authentic, joyful and easy
  • Selling Yourself – How to build meaningful relationships and sell yourself without feeling awkward about it
  • Additional Support – How to transition off benefits to self-employment and what support is available to you as a neurodivergent business owner 

Course Details

  • Online Class Dates: 7th May – 17th September 2024, every Other Tuesday, 10:00-12:00 GMT online via Zoom (plus virtual peer group support every other week)
  • Online Peer-to-Peer Support & Mentoring: 1st October – 26th November 2024 (online via Zoom)
  • In-Person Celebration/Graduation Event: Saturday 30th November 2024 (details TBC, in person event in London)
 

Eligibility

You must be over 21 years old and resident in the UK.
 
Please only apply if you are willing and able to commit for the duration of the programme, as there are only 12 places available we only want to offer places to those who are able to complete the course.
